Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

2008 4Runner Sport. Just bumped over 365k km and still runs like a top. Picked up Falcon T2 wheels and am running Falken Wildpeak AT4W (265/70r17) for my summer set up. Super, super happy with the set up.

Pod Light to Fog Light Control/Switch (4th Gen)

My apologies if this has been covered somewhere, but I've been searching and haven't found what I'm looking for. I've got a 2008 4runner Sport. I cracked my bumper eons ago (clipped a deer) and finally decided to go with a high clearance bumper made by a local guy (Toy Factory Fab in Calgary)...

    Official Millennium Silver Photo Thread

I'm a fan of my relatively recent purchase! (Yes, I know better than to take pictures with my phone vertically instead of horizontally, yet here we are)

    Bought not Built Build Thread

CEL came on again on Sunday. Had the code read at NAPA yesterday and it's another p0770 (shift solenoid "e" fault). I had this code when I bought the 4runner and have since replaced the three solenoids (a week and a half ago). It's running/driving/shifting smoothly and I haven't...

    CEL - P0770 issue

So when I bought my 4runner a month and a half ago, it had a CEL with the P0770 code for the shift solenoid "e". I replaced the solenoids/tranny fluid last weekend. It's been driving/shifting fine, but then yesterday the CEL came back on. I had the code checked at NAPA after work today and it's...

Nice runner! :hatsoff: How do you like the roof box? I do lots of skiing, but need to drive a few hours to get out to the mountains. I've got a Yakima Big Powderhound ski rack, but have considered going with a box. Miss the S4? My brother has a white Audi A4 Avant (1.8t. Lowered, exhaust...

    Bought not Built Build Thread

Thanks guys! I'm loving it so far (and I fit into southern Alberta way better than I did with my Volvo wagon). I'll try and get some more pictures up tonight now that it's home and I've got my camera.

    Bought not Built Build Thread

So at the end of April I finally took the plunge into the 4runner world. This will be my ongoing maintenance and mod thread. If all goes well, this truck will be in my life for a long, long time. I found a 99' 4runner SR5 (V6, 4x4) with 238*** km (148*** miles) in fantastic shape. It also had...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

After a month of working on it, delays and complications, I was finally able to insure, plate and DRIVE IT!!! It was a good night.

    Any Calgary People Here?

Hey there folks. I was going to post this in the Calgary/Edmonton regional forum, but the last reply in there was three months ago. I picked up a 99 4runner at the end of April and have been working on a few maintenance things over the past month or so. I live in Brooks, but the 4runner is at...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I had a CEL and the code was for a shift solenoid "e" error. They weren't super expensive and the package I ordered came with all three that are in the valve body so I swapped all three while I was in there. No more CEL!

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Worked on the truck on Friday and yesterday and got a few things done. Had a new windshield installed. Drained the tranny, dropped the pan, swapped my solenoids and put everything back together. Replaced both cv axles. (first one took about two hours. Sheared a seized bolt and had to run...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Actually last Saturday, but didn't get around to posting. Replaced a rear inner axle seal. The bearing seemed to be alright, so I guess I'll find out before too long. Probably should have replaced pads while I was in there as it was pretty gunked up, but didn't have parts with me. Replaced...

    Official: Gym/Workout Thread

I didn't go through the whole thread, but is anyone else into Olympic weightlifting? I discovered the lifts when I first joined a Crossfit gym a few years ago, but my focus has definitely shifted to training the snatch/clean+jerk. I love the technicality of the lifts, but at the end of the day...

    Any good books lately?

Cussler books are awesome. The literary version of cheesy, over the top action movies. I'll never stop reading them. A great adventure book/trilogy is the Mutiny on the Bounty trilogy. A great look at how harsh life was on ships back in the 18th century. Also pretty remarkable that, while it...
