On my 1986 4runner i have manual locking hubcaps, and I was wondering if you have to get out and lock them to put it in 4wd. If you don't have to get out then what are they for?

It is blizzard pearl and has the 3rd row option. At 251 miles I pulled the factory Dunlop tires off and put Firestone Destination LE tires on it which improved handlind, ride quality, and wet traction a noticeable amount. Anyway glad to be on here.
