Turn key absolutely nothing happens. tranded waiting for tow truck.

If it's not dying then you probably just have worn starter contacts. I'd suggest downloading or buying a digital copy of the FSM for your truck and working through the problem tree in it, you'll need a basic multimeter.

(Group Buy) Techstream diagnostic cables to fit your win-7, 8 or 10 (32-64) OS

Appreciate your contributions to the topic, those drivers in post 2667 were the only ones I've been able to find that worked on x64 In case anyone else is having issues with an expired license error at startup when using one of the keygens, set the expiry date for 365 days

Ultimate oil undercoating guide (DIY Waxoyl)

I redid the frame by rear wheels and a couple other areas last year, and touched up the differentials every year or two. It still looks mint except the areas like bottom of diff that get warm have some light surface rust now. Brake fittings too, trying cosmoline heavy on them this year. I'd use...

Declining Student Resilience: A Serious Problem

Nah all good. Different times. Hiring online and dating online both lead to a lot more shots fired, and more shot down. If it's as easy as siting on the couch and clicking "send" repeatedly to get a resume to an employer someone is barely qualified for, it'll happen a lot more often, and the...

Declining Student Resilience: A Serious Problem

In what way do you see lack of freedom as a bad thing for global domination? The CCP doesn't have to worry about opinion polls or negative press coverage. If they have an eccentric billionaire who goes against the narrative he doesn't get to buy Twitter, his IPO vanishes and so does he (Jack...

Need Advice ASAP re: Boneheaded Caliper Mistake

Been a while since I rebuilt one but guessing you need to realign it in the hole if it's not going back in with a clamp. Would probably be easier to do with the line off and no pressure. There's also a square edged ring in there that retracts the piston, suppose it'd be possible to get hung up...

How much frame rust is too much?

Yes, works great. For larger areas the Klean Strip metal prep sold by the gallon is cheaper and about as effective, although does seem to flash rust more quickly after washing

    Transfer case fluid? Best grade?

"Uninformed, inexperienced" yea, ok bud. I'm the first one to call out selection or sampling bias when it comes to things like transmission fluid changes (not) leading to failures, this is not that. Thinner oil can lead to more gear noise. More viscous oil will generally lead to less gear...

Both Rear Upper Control Arms Sheared off? WTF!

I think he's mistaken. Those welds look good to me, and though we can't really tell from the photo angle, the break appears to be through the solid bar stock itself above the weld. The only way you'll get that "high cycle low stress" fracture pattern as jetboy so eloquently described is if the...

    Transfer case fluid? Best grade?

The first example had 80k miles, that's sooner than 99.9% of diffs on the road will get a service and is in no way neglected. I previously owned 3 Explorers and never had a diff problem, and never heard of it being an issue with anyone else I've known who had them. Transmissions are another...

    Transfer case fluid? Best grade?

    Transfer case fluid? Best grade?

I used the redline in my diffs and tc last change and seemed to get more gear whine at cruising speed on the highway under no load, or changing from slight accel to slight decel without brakes. From searching it seems I wasn't alone in noticing this. Maybe I and all the others weren't paying...

Declining Student Resilience: A Serious Problem

That was a joke/dig at the soft-palmed gender studies majors who can't change a tire (or mousetrap, apparently) but were previously knighted as "educated and traveled". I do have AAA. Such a baller that it's the 200 mile premier package even . Part of living on the road half the year. Still...

Both Rear Upper Control Arms Sheared off? WTF!

From your pics showing intact paint it doesn't look like those arms were heated to remove the old bushings, and it wouldn't be expected. The shop would've been a cloud of black smoke from burning rubber long before the metallurgy was affected. Map gas will burn off paint pretty easily and it's...
