Steel City Racing: King of the Hammers 2019 Toyota 4Runner IFS 4600 Build Thread

From what I've seen, Hobie Smith (the driver for today's 4400 class race, and KOH "OG13") was unable to race today, hence the no show.

What Toyota do you wish they still made?

That's a FJ45 in the pic, but great trucks regardless. So many good ones to pick from, but I'd probably vote FJ80. Just the right mix of size, civility, simplicity, and capability imo:

    Official T4R "Firearms" thread

Ding ding ding...Exactly the source of my concern. And yes, I agree that this situation was a far cry from that but I personally wouldn't publicly post about it connecting the money owed to the gift/purchase.

    Official T4R "Firearms" thread

The purchaser answers the question "Are you the actual transferee/buyer of the firearm?" In the case of a true gift, then this question can be answered "yes", as the purchaser is using his/her own money to make the purchase. The instance in question falls in a gray area, due to the money owed...

Anyone run Big Levels to the Blue Ridge trail in Stockish 5th gen

I personally would not hesitate to run it in a stock 5th gen. Take this for what it's worth because I haven't run it in over a decade but from the pics and descriptions I've seen lately, it has not changed to any great degree. I have seen some guys saying the water/mud holes up top have gotten...

    Newsflash: stock TE great offroad

Almost 4 years later, the only thing I've added to this truck (beyond almost 100k fun, trouble free miles) is a mild lift and upsized the tires from the 275 K02's to a set of 285's. So much for my predictions!

    Trd pro lift question

Ha, you're preaching to the choir. I'm no 4WP fan boy.

    Trd pro lift question

I'm wondering if the register guy wasn't confused and thought you were referring to an xreas equipped Limited?

    Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sales Thread

The $192 list (before the additional discounting) 285/70 Ko2's are a "S" speed rated model with a 60psi max rating which sounds all good. Here's the problem--they weigh 58 pounds (which is roughly the same as the E rated 285) and they were discontinued this summer by BFG. By comparison, the...

    RTT and mans best friend

I remember a guy with a FJ who made a cordura (or similar) "runway" which he strapped to his hood/windshield to allow his dogs to scramble up into the rtt.

Cavalry Blue 4Runners, Let's see them!

Good looking trucks! Loved the Cavalry blue on our old FJ Cruiser and glad to see it again in the 4R's. Nice homage to Land Cruiser heritage!

    '75 fj40

Haven't been on here much recently...my '13 Trail is still doing its thing but I did add another Toyota truck to the stable this summer--a '75 FJ40. It was an AZ/CA truck up until 10 years ago when it came here, failed inspection and sat (outside for much of that time.) Cumulatively, 32 years...

Anyone got a pic of BFG KO2 275/70R17 on your 4R without lift?

I lost roughly 1mpg when I replaced the stock tires w/ K02's. Currently at 17.5-18mpg.

    Camper: Now this is Awesome

Couldn't agree more! While there are certainly other tangible reasons to own a RTT, at the end of the day, I keep mine for that one simple reason--it's fun.
