Besides all the maintence others have mentioned and some all terrain tires, I would look into upgrading the headlights or adding some sort of auxiliary driving lights. The stock headlights have very poor visibility in any sort of night driving(especially rain).

I experienced something similar on my last third gen and it ended up being the steering rack, right next to the boot on the drivers side.I think the rack would be a good place to start.

Bilstien 5100s with OME 906s in the back and 880s in the back would be ideal for a small lift without sacrificing comfort or reliability
