Thanks for the reply. I wish that there was some kind of real "fix" instead of adding foam to hopefully alleviate the rattle. Is the rattle caused by the latch wearing out? Both of the rubber bump stops are in place but perhaps they have broken down a bit although they do look okay. Perhaps...

I got my 1997 4Runner in February of this year. It is in great shape and had 109,000 on it when I bought it. It was a one owner vehicle and was used as a commuter and didn't go off-road. I've put almost 7,000 on it and have driven it a lot off-road. It was rattle free when I got it but now...
