Another thing, the reason why it was so hard for me to get the bottom eye of the shocks to rotate is because the springs were compressed and extra 2-3" with the spring perch being upside down. Thanks again Konkordmusk for seeing that!

I just had the springs compressed by a mechanic struts installed and now I am back to install them in the 4Runner. I can't figure out how to get them back in and the bottom bolt seems like it won't line up with the bracket on the control arm. See the pictures below:
