The 4TB drives in my home server are the basic retail (non-constellation) versions... They're the ST4000DM000 (that might be the bare drive part #?). I have redundancy, nightly local backups and rotating off-site backups... So didn't pay the extra for enterprise class drives.

My German Shepherd goes with me all the time in the 4Runner. I have 3 bed spreads that I rotate out for cleaning every couple of trips. He sheds quite a bit, so I vacuum my T4R at least once a week. I do get nose prints on the back window, but other than that, he doesn't do much damage. Of...

Wow... that's good to know! The one downside of the NAS is that copying the video files from my home server to the NAS over ethernet is SLOW (about 7 hours to copy over 7 movies - maybe 30 GB). I've still got about 140 more movies to copy over. I'm thinking of just connecting a separate USB...

Yeah, I was using iPhone 5 as hotspot... But that causes some overheating and a bit more limited. Also, phone hotspot doesn't address my goals 2 & 3. The aux-in audio (from the airport express) is markedly better than Bluetooth! I'm not much of an audiophile, but even I noticed a big difference...

Goals: 1) wifi Internet access for anyone who sits down in my 4R. 2) Ability to AirPlay music or other audio from any device in 4R. 3) Ability to share terabytes of data, media, music, etc with anyone / any device in vehicle. Goals MET! Hardware: Started with AT&T Unite Pro mobile hotspot...

I've taken Duke (100 lbs, German Shepherd) on a few outings in the new - to me - 2011 TE. He loves it! Plenty of room for him and gear in the back! My only concern is that one day he'll leap in or out of the back and catch a paw in part of the sliding tray (hand grip or underneath)... And that...

1st Day Wheelin' with my new to me '11 TE Daughter and I took a drive today up above Long Barn (CA) to wheel for the first time in my '11 TE (Nav & KDSS). Good chance for me to give my initial impressions of the 4Runner: Love the look. Bone stock lease return... only had 34K on the odometer...

Picked up today. 2011 with 34k miles. Very clean! I will not do major mods for a while, but interested in any recommendations for accessories (maybe less than couple hundred $$).
