Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

A couple years ago we bought a new CUV for my wife to drive. The trim level came with 20" wheels, but I asked the dealer to swap them (for no credit) for the 18" of the base model. They'd not had the request before, but were willing to do it. Just ask the dealer... they likely get you-charge a...

    TPMS for new wheels

We have sets of snow tires mounted on wheels for our cars. When swapping out for winter we just live with the TPMS warnings until the all-seasons go back on. I lived for several decades keeping an eye on my tire pressures without this tech. It's nice but superfluous to my needs.

    Non ethanol fuel????

Ethanol has about 33% less energy content than gasoline. A 15% dilution of gas with ethanol would mean about 5% less mpg than with pure gas, at any pump octane. So, a car getting 20mpg on gas should get about 19mpg on the 15% blend. E-85, which is 85% ethanol, yields a reduction in mpg of about...

Why did you choose the trim level that you did?

Just replaced our 2013 Limited with a 2021 Limited. Prime reason is the full time four wheel drive. It does light off road to trailheads, hunting and fishing spots, but spends most of its time on road, year-round in the CO Rockies. Full time 4WD amounts to a no-brainer in our case.

New Wheels & Tires vs TPMS Sensors

I just live with the light during the winter when the snows are on the car.

What would you replace a 5th Gen with?

What to replace a 5th Gen with? For us, it was easy. We replaced our 2013 4R with a 2021 4R, delivered in early August. The 2013 was fine, and we expected to keep it for quite a while longer. Our son, however, did a rapid job change to a position that no longer included a company car, so he...

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Picked up our 2021 Limited this morning, had ordered in late May. Some minor interior updates vs our 2013, and some added equipment bits. If I read the owners manual correctly I think I can shut off the stupid nanny package stuff, will soon see!

    What else do you drive?

Our son just stole our 2013 Limited so we have a 2021 on order, should receive by end of July. Besides that, my car is a 2019 GTI and my wife has a 2020 QX60. Three very different cars good for different purposes!

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Ordered a Limited to replace our 2013 last week, got the build date info yesterday. Almost $3,000 under the MSRP, even after MSRP was reduced by a $1000 incentive of some sort.

    Pontoon kick boats

I have a couple FishCat 4 belly boats and a couple by Caddis. The Caddis is lighter and more suited to when I have to walk a ways to a lake. Otherwise, the Fishcat is much better. You sit up higher and it's overall more durable. They fit easily into the 4R, even if only partially deflated. These...

Impossible finding new or used 4runners with sliding cargo tray

I suppose you must order it. I bought my car off the lot (2013 Limited) and it was already installed. I very rarely use it and wouldn't miss it.

What would you like to see in a 6th gen?

As long as the tailgate window continues to fully retract into the gate, I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever else changes.

Owners 200+ miles from snow: Do you have snow tires?

Spending most of the winter in the CO Rockies, our situation is different, and we have snows on both wagons. Stopping and turning both clearly enhanced. My comment to the OP is an economic one... for each month you are run snows you are keeping miles off your A/S tires, so you extend the life...

Request to Toyota for next gen 4runner

As long as the next one retains the electric-opening tailgate window I'm sure I'll be happy.

Going from my 4Runner daily to a small hatchback, what to know?

Congrats on your very nice R. The roads west of you are going to be great fun after mud season... nothing like a turbo when dealing with altitude. On your Blizzak thoughts, if your R tires are all-seasons, why not just keep using the 4R when heading to the mountains during winter? The R with...
