    Zero point calibration troubles

Your case might be different, but replacing the skid control ECU worked for me. I have only had to re-do the ZPC once since I replaced the ECU, but that was due to upgrading the suspension. You might want to do this fix one step at a time; a used ECU should be around $100 on eBay. Good luck...

Disappearing front cross member due to rust

I had a similar rust problem with my cross member. Mine looked just as bad. I was worried about MA inspection as well. I ended up removing the skid plate and taking a sawzall to the vertical section just above the nasty rust. My plan was to weld in a replacement, but got sidetracked on...

dreaded p0420 Yes, i searched. maybe i am doing it wrong?

Same here - my CEL's been gone for more than 3 years now using the anti-fouler trick! Unfortunately I just starting hearing ticking from the Pacesetter on the passenger side. I'm afraid to go look where it's cracked.

How much rust is too much?!

Definitely check all around the frame welds where the rear control arms attach and the support under the radiator where the front skid clips in. Both of those have rusted to hell on my New England 4Runner.

    Steering Column U-Joint

"Eric the car guy" has a great video of replacing this very part on a 4runner. I used the same method with an air chisel to get mine free.

LCA question, what am I missing here????

I just replaced both of my LCAs last week. I used the MOOG Part #K100128 with the greasable bolts. The Front/Rear bolts were different sizes and the Front had a sleeve to fit into the bushing. The kits worked fine and I like the peace of mind that I can prevent the seizing of the bolts in the...

    pictures of my rusty frame

I'm in exactly the same boat. My '03 cross member is a rusted mess too. I too am worried that this will screw with my MA inspection. My plan is to cut that piece of crap off and weld on a piece of square tubing in it's place. It doesn't have any structural purpose that I can tell. I will...

    Zero point calibration troubles

Bumping this thread with my update on my C1234 code. I ended up buying both a used skid control ecu and a yaw sensor from ebay. $100 ea. I replaced the ecu first, thinking that it made more sense that the ecu was forgetting it's ZPC than the yaw sensor actually going bad. Success! It's been...

    Zero point calibration troubles

Jumping in here, same issue just happened on my '03 Limited T4R with 109K. There is no CEL, but TechStream tells me the VSC ECU has a DTC C1234 and the ZPC won't reset the lights. Does the Yaw sensor fail that often? I think I will try and use contact cleaner on the YAW sensor plug and...

Gen 4 Pace Setter Exhaust Manifolds / Headers

My P0420 code arrived on my driver side within a day of getting my Pacesetter manifolds installed. They reused the original sensors on the manifolds. I thought replacing sensors would fix me up, but the CEL came back time after time. I replaced the manifold one first, then the downstream...

dreaded p0420 Yes, i searched. maybe i am doing it wrong?

Sure. This link was particularly helpful. How to install the spark plug anti-foulers to remove the ses or cel light - evolutionm.net. I had to try something as I had just put 2 brand new cats and was still throwing a code on the drivers side. For $8 and a little bit of my time, it was worth...

dreaded p0420 Yes, i searched. maybe i am doing it wrong?

I feel your pain. I had a cracked passenger manifold that was driving me crazy. I spent the bucks and replaced both manifolds with the Pacesetters. I started getting P0420 on the driver's side, so I replaced the original A/F and O2 sensors with Denso. I thought that would take care of it, but...

Beefing up Toyota stock exhaust manifolds

I replaced both my V8 manifolds with Pacesetters about a month ago. I reused my O2 sensors as well, but ended up with a P0420 code on my driver's side. I replaced both A/F and O2 sensors on that bank but the code kept coming back. That was frustrating. I ended up installing an $8 spacer on...

    V8 Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold

2003 V8 T4R Limited with a 108K miles. I just got both exhaust manifolds replaced with the Pacesetters. Only passenger side was leaking, but I felt better about changing both out at the same time. What a difference! The engine is so much quieter. I used a local chain with a great reputation...

    V8 Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold

Yes the Dorman comes in a 2-pack, but the description is not right. I believe they are the bolts for the exhaust flange, not the head studs. I bought the head studs (90126-08037) and the flange nuts (90178-A0062) through Partznet. I am only at the parts-gathering phase of this project, so...
