Do you plan on taking it through trails? Just wondering the application. If you are using trailer to get to and set up camp THEN go wheel, or take it wheeling with you. If it's the first, a 5x8 enclosed trailer is what we use. I don't ha e an rtt, but we keep all our gear in the trailer year...

sounds like a few issues. I agree with the warn u-joints, grease them up. The surging and stalling could also be MAF. Clean it and see if that improves.

Definitely sounds like bad ujoints. Grease them until you purge all the old grease out, if it decreases the clunk, still probably need to replace them.

It's a bolt with a tether attached. There is a threaded hole already just behind the 2 rear seats. Just snip a hole in the carpet and screw down. I don't have any pics.
