If you think it is a belt making the noise, try holding a LAVA bar (soap) on the inside of the belts and see if the noise changes or disappears. Not a permanent fix, but helps diagnose.

Why not just drill a small hole in the broken one after grinding off the broken part? It would hold up better, but possibly have less maneuverability in your pocket. Yeah, I said maneuverability.

It turns the light on next to ECT. Oh and higher RPM shift.

Get OEM if possible. Even if an Aftermarket one fits fine, it will most likely start rusting from the inside faster than OEM.

That is crazy. Strange that the front of the hood doesn't have hardly any chips from the highway. That is 96 miles every day of the year, assuming it was driven all of year 2000.

I had this same code on my 2000. I did clean the MAF but turned out to be a bad spark plug wire.

Get a used cap. Can get them very cheap. Easy to replace. Be sure you know what type of flares you have (none, small, large). The caps have different holes. car-part.com

As far as the cladding, in some cases some very odd combinations that don't look very good.

Also, if you change the diff oil and use synthetic, it will most likely make the rear axle seals leak. Assuming the seals are factory. This goes for 3rd gens. Not sure about other years.

A positive note is the 3.4 V6 is a non-interference engine, so IF the timing goes, no internal damage. However, don't disregard the 80-100k timing belt replacement.
