OMG, heat gun??? That's like killing an ant with a hammer..Lol Seriously though, dental floss is all you need, period. I've been doing it like that for 20+ yrs.. The glue is like wax. Either rubs off with thumb or bug and tar remover..very easy! There is absolutely nothing behind the badging...
