I've noticed it grinds really bad once it gets nice and hot. After it warms up it starts grinding into 2nd, then when it's nice and hot it starts grinding into 3rd gear too. Not sure what kind of gear oil is in it. I may have to look into that once I get a few other things addressed...

Hey guys I did a quick search, but didn't see anything. I have a 5spd and I've noticed it grinds when I put into 2nd gear. It usually happens more when it's warm than cold. Any clues?

I've heard of their kit. My girlfriend works at Oreilly's Auto Parts. I don't get a discount but she has a kit in stock for $52.99 and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Yes it's got the plastic driver's side piece, but the way I see it, that's how toyota did it and it is meant to last 100,000...

Good advice straight! Right now I just want her to run reliably because she is my daily driver. After that I will do the minor interior cosmetic mods like cleaning the seats and replacing the carpet so it's a little quieter and I can hear the radio and then I will do the exterior cosmetic mods.
