    Bumper swap....

I'm gonna do it right now. That extended front subframe on the '99+ just bolts on. Take it off easy. Need the '96-'98 bumper brackets. You can make the '99+ brackets fit with a drill though. I have a '99 and also hate the fatlip bumpers

    JSwain's ongoing build/wrenching thread

Looks awesome. I have the same, 2.7 5-speed. My frame was pretty bad and my rear axle housing had actually rotted through. It's all fixed up now though. Still got stock suspension, pretty worn out though. I'm from Riverview NB, but my grandmother is from the east end of PEI and I spend a couple...

Pending; P1130 then week later P0125

I have the same code an poor gas mileage. I'll replace the front sensor. Mine is 4-cylinder so there's only two sensors. But it's really rusty, I don't want to break a stud getting it out

Tundra springs in front, 906's in the rear?

Tundra TRD coils is probably what I'll do in the front. Do they offer an advantage over '99 talls/5100s or the OME front springs/5100 combo? I'll go with the 906/5100 in the back

$2000 Tacoma has hit a problem

yeah, pretty much east of northern Maine. About 500 kms east. Moncton might be well known, I don't know. We're right across the river from Moncton

$2000 Tacoma has hit a problem

Sorry, not a Runner, but a '95 Tacoma. I got my friend on to liking Toyota trucks, and he actually bought one after a few months of looking. He traded a rough Mazda for it, and the PO gave him a $700 off the truck for the Mazda. Body needed some work but it ran good. Had truck for a couple...

    Deckplate mod on a 4cyl?

I'm also wondering. I didn't think the ISR was possible on 4-cylinder trucks

    98 Rotted Rocker Panels Replacement?

I was told 3rd gen 4Runner rockers were $350 apiece, that's why we used the Buick ones

Looking at a four runner with some issues

the frame is worth fixing, my uncle and I did mine. Mine's black with beige cloth but it's an SR5 w/o flares, not a Sport. Real nice truck there. Around here it would be worth around $3000 I'd say. Got mine for $2600

    3RZ p0125

okay, thanks guys. Oddly enough, the CEL went out on it's own and there's no code anymore. Just today. I'll be fixing the exhaust this weekend or early this week. If the code comes back after that I'll do thermostat and A/F sensor

    3RZ p0125

Got a p0125 code on my '99 4Runner 2.7L, did some research on here and found out it is engine coolant temperature problem. Some people say to check the thermostat but others were saying it's the A/F sensor. I don't notice any driveability issues. Is the A/F sensor part of the from O2 sensor or...

    98 Rotted Rocker Panels Replacement?

I got some from a 1991 Buick and cut them to fit. 4Runner rockers are expensive. It wasn't as much work as we expected. If you can weld, you can fix them. Otherwise I'd try to find replacement rockers for any vehicle that's big enough, and get a body shop to cut them to fit and weld them on

    Door lock problem

Mine has nothing to do with the power locks. It was converted to power locks by the previous owner. The return spring in the latch itself was preventing the door from unlocking. Got the door open but the problem still occurred. Took the latch right out, and the spring is just too weak. I lubed...

    Door lock problem

Thanks! I'll give that a try when I get the chance.

Year to Year Ground Clearance Differences

I don't know why they did that. I have a '99 4-cylinder and it seems lower than most of the other 1996-2000 4Runners I see. Mine is 21" from centre of hub to the fender
