I read another thread on this. If you ride the brakes it will not downshift. Try a series of light brake taps until the tranny downshifts. I have a tendency to pulsate the brakes in the mountains, so that is probably why it was working as expected for me.

My understanding is that slots are always good. Drilled matters how the rotors were forged. If they were forged with the holes, then no added weak points. If drilled after forging, then weak points can arise. I prefer slotted only rotors given the choice. DBA 4000s will not warp. Ever.

I spent waay too much money replacing parts, trying to fix a clunk in my Subaru WRX. My advise is test everything before buying parts. IE: disconnect the sway bar on that side and see if the clunk goes away.
