Here are some of the steps you can take. It's not fool proof but it may work.
1. Disconnect one of the wires from the ODB2 port. Either the CAN low or CAN high. The thief will not be able to clone the key if he can't read it. If you need to bring you car into the shop you can always reconnect it...
Does anyone know how to cut down on the wind noise to a newly installed light bar on a roof rack? I installed a 42in light bar on a Front Runner roof rack and it started to make a low humming noise going about >50mph. Do you guys have any tips to reduce the noise? I tucked the light bar between...
What skid plates do you guys have to prevent thieves from stealing your catalytic converter? CBI has one but I think they can still get to it. Also, how many converter do we have in our 5th gen $Runners? There seems to be two canister coming off of each manifold.
TIA
I saw the one on Trail4Runner and it looks horrible. I went ahead and gouge out t my existing blank panel with a dremel and drill. I think it turn out great.
Does anyone know a blank panel for a switch that will work for the RedArc brake controller? The ones they have on their website doesn't fit any of the 2017 4Runner. The RedArc controller module cannot fit inside of the original blank panel if I wanted to drill a hole in it.
TIA
This one is similar to the one that I have but with 250Amps.
Amazon doesn't have the 180A that I got awhile back.
Amazon.com: DALY BMS 4S 12V 500A LiFePO4 Battery Protection Module PCB Protection Board with Balance Leads Wires BMS for 18650 Battery Pack 12V with Cooling Fan: Electronics
What am I doing wrong? The BMS should be able to charge at the correct voltages and current. And the batteries I have are well over the limits of the BMS. Should I connect the BMS to a DC/DC charger? What are the disadvantages or dangers of connecting the BMS directly to the alternator?
TIA
I have a Daly BMS charger that is capable of charging LIFEPO4 at 180Amp at the correct voltages. The battery is capable of handling 280Amps of charging.
Thanks all for your comments. I'm building a LIFEPO4 battery pack with a 180A BMS. And yes, I have upgrade my alternator to handle the current output. My thinking is that after a few days camping in one spot, I only need to drive about 2 to 3 hours to fully top off the batteries. Specifically I...
