The pulley is still attached and the crank bolt is firmly in place. It seems that just the interior metal donut that's stuck to the pulley with a rubber seal is what came out.
Another guy on here said he drove his for years like that...so I'm debating if it's even needed at all. The...
Thanks. I've been reading more and found a thread where a member said he drove it for years without that thing.
Does that align with your experience - i.e. very little/no negative effect?
Harmonic Balance Bore Material
Hey crew - I started up my 4Runner today and almost immediately heard a weird sound like the fan was hitting something.
I turned it off and saw this chunk of metal sitting down at the bottom of the fan. I had to look it up and I'm pretty sure it's the harmonic balancer.
Anyone have any idea...
First I’ll say I reached out to Mickey Thompson and they are going to warranty the tire. This post is mainly a rant on the tire shop and the runaround I’m getting from them.
I got Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT’s put on 1.5 months ago. I’ve only driven the truck less than 10 times since then...
I checked the LBJ with a crowbar and they were tight.
My tires were 255/85 r16 Maxxis Bighorn MT - they never did get balanced well. Was at 35k on them so decided to just go for new tires to see if that would fix it.
Switched over to 285/75 r16 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT and they balanced...
Could be. I replaced uppers and lowers when I did the front suspension at 170k miles (I’m at 225k now) - all OEM for the ball joints.
The uppers felt great when I had the UCA off so it wouldn’t be them.
I’m considering just changing the LBJ’s out again - although I should get way more than...
That’s exactly why I went whiteline for the LCA the first time around and I would do it again. You do not want to be reusing sleeves.

Howdy all - been a while since I posted here but wanted to update on my Energy Suspension upper control arm bushings.
I’ve had a shimmy at all speeds for as long as I can remember.
When I first got the truck with 160k miles I did all front bushings. Used Whiteline for LCA and Energy...
Finished up the trip today - total 6,700 miles in exactly 1 month, most of it on 6 days of long highway drives through all types of mountains, snow, and flat lands. Averaged 16mpg and did super solid.

Made it to Montana and Wyoming for a few weeks of skiing without trouble, except that little brake thing the other day that I posted about.
Here’s a pic from this morning leaving Wyoming en route to Lincoln, NE.
Shoeshone National Forest
It was pretty much snow the entire way. I-80 in...
