They were hard to find with the 4cyl, there will be one manual to every 10-15 autos, so there is plenty out there. Everyone can stop the 99 circle jerk, the stock suspension on every 99 is shot by now, and i know, we all need a hood bulge and a locker we will need maybe 10 times in the vehicles...

The older steering wheel is nicer to drive with, it looks worse but it is more comfortable.

You ever check the diff fluid? you could have run low and and now your rear diff needs a rebuild or (used, much cheaper option) replacement. These rears are notorious for running low on oil and this happening, but it is just as likely that it is just a normal bad wheel bearing. Good Luck!

Does it matter? I like that my 4Runner works well, and almost always gets me where i need to go, and in any conditions, without having to deal with stupid BS problems all the time.

I wouldn't even bother with a used car lot, most of their inventory is from auctions. Their main goal is profit, so remember you will never get a "deal" from there.
