Just swapped a set into my 2020 SR5 today. Pretty painless. Bought a like-new set off FB Marketplace for $300.

Retrofitting 2021 LED's and DD LED fogs into my 2020 SR5 today and discovered a plastic shroud covering the OEM passenger side fog light housing. Does anyone know what this is for and if it's necessary? I'd like to keep it off if it's not a big deal.

2020 were halogen. 2021 depends on the trim - SR5 and offroad in 2021 were LED low/halogen high, higher trims (I believe) were both LED. 2022 all trims are all LED. 2021 LED/halogen hybrids are great because they're an easy swap into older models. I don't think anyone has figured out how to...

I did this too, using connector adaptors - one of which melted after about a year. Spooked me enough to go back to the original bulbs.

I just picked up a like-new set on FB marketplace for $300. They're out there if you're willing to wait a few weeks.

I was thinking about selling the halogens to recoup part of the cost of the upgrade, but honestly I think it's just a little OCD on my part to have functional backups laying around as well.

I recently went through this process as well. I decided on OEM. If you can find a set of lightly used swap-outs, the price/value is pretty good.

I'm going to swap in a set of 2021 LED's into my 2020 SR5 next week. I know I need to swap the connector heads, but I want to leave my originals intact as a backup set or to sell. Does anyone know where I can buy a set of just the headlight connector heads? Looking at the Toyota parts...
