My 2007 4 runner sliding in street snow

Much better with Nokians! Well, here is the final final. I got rid of the Blizak snow tires and replaced them with Nokian Hakka 5's. What a difference! Seems on the 18" rims Nokians perform far superior to the Blizaks in snow. All of the sliding has stopped and traction is much improved.

southern boy moving to denver...am I gonna be ok?

Welcome to Denver. I live here, so here is what you need. Intense snow weather in winter comes in fits and starts. Weather will get windy, then a front will move in and dump maybe 8 inches in the city. Or, it will be sunny and in the 40's and no snow. Denver is a pretty sunny place, with 320...

What the Toyota dealer said about VSC Here's the latest on the sliding saga...I took the T4R 2007 Ltd to the local Toyota dealer and had them check VSC. They said it's working fine, and told me VSC turns off when vehicle is put into either 4 HI or LO. Dealer said VSC only works in 2 wheel...

My 2007 4 runner sliding in street snow

2007 T4R Sliding in street snow By sliding I mean poor traction, taking a turn onto a street (at slow snow speeds) the back end is slipping, and when I put on the brake the T4R keeps going. Yea, i am not a big fan of ABS. I have a 2001 Volvo XC70 with 16" wheels and Nokian WR tires. I have no...

My 2007 4 runner sliding in street snow

How to stop sliding in street snow with T4R? I have a 2007 Toyota 4 runner LTD. It has 18" wheels and P265/60R18 Blizack snow tires. It is still sliding bad in street snow in Denver. What can I do to stop the sliding? Should I drop the wheel size and get some other tires? If so, what...

My 2007 4 runner sliding in street snow

I bought in September a 2007 4 runner limited with 18" wheels (265 60R 18). I drove it for the first time in about 8 inches of snow on local streets where I live. I put the SUV into 4 wheel hi, differential unlocked, and still the SUV was sliding around turns, as well as when braking or...
