6000 KM in 3.5 days towing 2000lbs , the saga

Makes you wonder how many people on this forum would have bought a turbo diesel if they offered one. I'm definitely one of them.

Considering purchasing a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Kinda like the car and driver comparison that contrasted the JGC limited vs the 4 runner trail. Big surprise they liked the jeep better. Most people choose the 4 runner because of the reliability and offroad capability. If those issues are secondary to you then maybe it's not for you. My...

Since when did Venza become an SUV?

Sure looks like a car to me... Same ground clearance as a lot of other cars I've seen.

    This can't be happening...

Who has their name on the title of the 4runner? Also who drives it regularly? If my wife tried to trade our 4runner in I'd offer to get her a different daily driver and keep the runner for myself. I'm not surprised that some people don't like the 4runner. If you watch the consumer reports...

Anybody use D range tires in the desert?

Thanks for the advice. I'm putting in a 3" toytec lift and currently have shrockworks sliders. Haven't decided on what underbody armor to go for since I'm trying to keep the overall weight reasonable.

Anybody use D range tires in the desert?

I live in Tucson but I'm in the military so I'll probably have to move before my tires wear out. Before I moved here I was in Korea for 2 years and Germany for 3, so wet and snowy weather still has to factor into my purchase decision because I may very well see that climate again before I...

Anybody use D range tires in the desert?

That's actually exactly what I was worried about since the duratracs and the terra grapplers are only 2-ply sidewalls. I had the BFGs on my tacoma for several years and didn't like the wet road performance very much (though puncture resistance was pretty good). I was slightly looking at the...

Anybody use D range tires in the desert?

I'm looking at buying a new set of 285/70/17 tires for my limited and I'm going to be doing some wheeling in the Arizona desert. I was all set to pull the trigger on a set of Goodyear Duratracs but found out they only are made in D load range rather than E1. Now I'm conflicted between the...

A rig question - ad naseum

I looked into one of those as well. They seem to be about the size of a 3rd gen (a plus for me) but I couldn't find any solid answers about importing them other than the obvious "expect to pay more" answer. That's why I ended up just buying US spec with our gas engines and poor fuel economy.

A rig question - ad naseum

I just had a similar experience in buying a 4-runner overseas. For financing you might want to look into Navy Federal Credit Union as well. I'm Air Force and for 20K financing they gave me a 1.79 percent APR which they approved over the phone and sent me the check in the mail the next day...
