SOLD: (4th Gen) VSC Off Switch and Kliv MOD VSC device - WV

SOLD $90 shipped For sale is a Toyota VSC Off Switch and the Kliv Mod device. I used this in a 2005 4Runner in order to deactivate the vehicle stability control without requiring me to switch to 4WD. The Kliv Mod is a clever device that allows you to switch off VSC while not triggering any...

FS: (4th & early 5th Gen) AFE Pro Dry Air Filter - WV

$35 shipped aFe Pro Dry Air Filter No oiling required Model number 31-10114 Note: in the pictures, the "1" on the "31" is scratched off. I'm guessing the manufacture had the wrong part numbers on the mold or something. This is definitely the "Dry" (pn 31) filter and not the one that you...

VSC/ABS Lights On, MIL Light Not On - No Codes?

Wanted to follow up on this and say that both the right and left front wheel speed sensors were bad. I forgot that about a year ago I replaced the front wheel bearings and tore up the OEM sensors in the process of removing them. Instead of going back with OEM sensors, I got some cheap ebay...

VSC/ABS Lights On, MIL Light Not On - No Codes?

Bought a new "stop light switch" today anyway. Installed it, the lights were still on. Topped off the brake fluid reservoir (it was about 3/4 full) thinking maybe it detected low fluid. Still the lights were on. Did the zero point calibration one more time and that didn't work either...

VSC/ABS Lights On, MIL Light Not On - No Codes?

Just went out and checked that switched. It has continuity between two posts in the open position and continuity between the opposite two post in the closed position. Just to be sure I took the switch apart, cleaned all the terminals, applied some dielectric grease, and retested and...

VSC/ABS Lights On, MIL Light Not On - No Codes?

Hello, A couple weeks ago all 4 of the traction/vsc/abs lights came on in my 2005 v6 4Runner. The MIL/check engine light never came on. I took it to 3 autoparts stores and none of them could find any codes. I unplugged the battery (dumb mistake?) overnight to see if that would clear anything...

VSC Off, ATRAC On Mod complete!

I don't really know the differences between the years, but the only tried and true way I've read of people getting VSC off in 2wd is to first go to 4wd, use the button in this mod to ground out that wire, then go back into 2wd. The only concern I've found is your front axle is still engaged...

    The end-all Fluid Film thread

If I couldn't reach something by hand or tool, I didn't worry prepping it mechanically. In those cases the best it got was a spray of Prep & Etch (assuming the sprayer could get a stream in the unreachable spot), maybe some overspray from the primer and paint, but definitely a good coating of...

    The end-all Fluid Film thread

I sprayed mine earlier this year. It took just under a gallon. I sprayed in a garage with no issues. Made the floor slippery, but some simple green and wipe down took it off pretty easily. Also it didn't destroy my clothes....just washed them. I put all four corners on jack stands which were...

    VSC Off in 2WD for V6 4Runners

Yeah that's not the same one I'm talking about. That kills TRAC, VSC, and ABS. I'm talking about the mod I linked to and described in the first post....it only disables VSC but leaves TRAC and ABS activated.

VSC Off, ATRAC On Mod complete!

Gotcha, yeah I'm not sure *where* the wires go. If you download the wiring diagrams in the stickies it shows a lot of the connectors and their approximate location in the vehicle, but not sure if that'd give you what you need. Instead of trying to get to the red/blue wire at the skid control...

    VSC Off in 2WD for V6 4Runners

So tonight I went out with a multimeter to watch what the 4WD ECU was actually trying to do with the ADD and Transfer case depending on the scenario. I found that if we perform the sequence that's been outlined here and other forums to get VSC off in 2WD, the reason it works is because the ADD...

VSC Off, ATRAC On Mod complete!

What additional wires are you trying to trace, that's not shown on the diagram that JA posted? The post on page 4 is referencing the skid control ecu, which likely wouldn't show any of the 115V wires if they aren't related to that system/circuit.

    VSC Off in 2WD for V6 4Runners

The advanage of *enabling* the ADD (well technically just making it appear enabled) along with the CDL is so a single button push will disable VSC for those of us that have 4WD V6 4Runners. Otherwise we have to go through a process of going into H4 first, then the button, then back to H2. I...
