My 4runner does this as well. Kinda annoying but it does save you from braking. Honda's do this as well. Driven a newer civic and accord and they both shift down on inclines as well.

No, its not a bulb, it just a connector which plugs in where the old brake light bulb pluged into. Just replace the bulb with the connector that runs the LED brake lights. The connector comes with the LED taillight. Basically all it is 2 wires that run into the taillight to run the LED lights...

Truthfully i can't tell a difference between oem and these. They are definitely bright and i think its all about personal preference.

I bought the LED tail lights from autopartsavenue. They are awesome! No gap in the taillight and can't tell any difference from oem. They are a great buy! I wouldn't hesitate!
