Just put a hidden kill switch somewhere. Use an aux light switch for a kill thats not hooked up to lights. Somethings simple for you and hard for the thief.

No top hat needed either. I did this mod to my ‘06. Tore out the XREAS, did the rear bushing and installed. About 2” of lift (my xreas was trashed) and looks great with 265/70r17 tires.

I would definitely buy it back. BUT... Make sure the insurance you are dealing with know you want it fixed and would not want a total claim, and they may work with you, especially if you are doing the labor yourself. Putting together a parts list and quote for you to fix it may sway a deal...
