Got mine replaced last weekend. Came out good aside from the center speaker trim being cracked. They are taking care of it though. The new color of the dash looks duller than the old, but it could be the years of products being added to it.

Wow - yours sounds almost exact to mine, except mine is an 05 and it happened at 170k.

I dont think I replied to this yet. 05 Sport 2WD 170k Misfire on 6 cyl. No overheating, but when we tore everything down the inside of my engine was darn clean. Stinks that the truck was perfect up until then.

2005 Sport 2WD V6 Misfire on 6 cyl around 168,000 Head Gasket! Sucks it happened because when we tore it down the internals looked brand new..

Darn. The only work on the head that was done was shaving it to level. I wonder if there is a VIN lookup to possibly see the order from the factory. Thanks for the help

We are definitely talking about the same thing. That was my fear was that an adjustment would be needed. Do they come with specific numbered ones in specific positions from the factory?

I meant that we kept them in order when we removed them, but got mixed up out of order and now don't know exactly what number corresponds with where we removed it. The silver caps that have the numbers underneath. I guess you could call them a shim, but I think Toyota calls them valve lifters.
