    Alternate Rack

I've been running SSO's rack for several months, and really like it. All aluminum, relatively light weight, no drilling required, and looks great. It's been holding up my JB rooftop tent since install. SSO has been easy to deal with, too, with good communication and responsiveness. I'd recommend...

Magnetic Grey 4Runners! Lets see them!

In its element... It's getting there. Next comes a rear bumper (still trying to decide which) and some additional skid plating.

Consolidated Rear bumper for 5TH Gens

Shockworks and BajaRack ladder Anyone out there running the Shockworks rear bumper with the swing-out arm and a BajaRack ladder? The Shockworks site shows that a Gobi ladder fits fine, but not sure about Baja.

Consolidated Rear bumper for 5TH Gens

Great to know. Will hold off for now. Just bought the slimline front bumper today. Looking forward to seeing what's done with the rear.

Steering wheel vibration poll -- responses appreciated

Good to know. Thanks. I'm planning on going back to Discount Tire tomorrow to ask them to check the balance.

Steering wheel vibration poll -- responses appreciated

That's an interesting thought. I have a new 2017 TRD Off-Road that had minimal if any vibration with stock wheels/tires. After 300 miles I replaced with Konig Countersteer Type X wheels and BFG KO2 tires and noted some immediate mild vibration, most notably between about 40-60 mph. I've just...

5th Gen Wheel & Tire Thread

Thanks for the input. I've decided to stick with the 265/70s. They're rated C, and the 275/70s only come in E rating. I'd rather not risk both rubbing and significantly altered acceleration and braking quality due to increasing the unsprung mass so much.

Anyone got a pic of BFG KO2 275/70R17 on your 4R without lift?

Now that you've had your Countersteers and 275/70s for a while, anything new to report? Have any rubbing issues developed? Other problems? I've just purchased the Countersteers and order 265/70s to be put on next week, but am debating going to 275s. Just trying to avoid issues. Thanks for the input.

    Deer verses 4Runner – 4Runner wins…………..sort of

Yikes. So glad y'all are OK. This is one of my biggest fears, and I've been lucky so far. A couple of years ago I had a large doe bolt out into my lane from the left side of the road. I swerved into the left lane to avoid her just as she decided to reverse course and go back the way she came...

Words of warning: Black interior w/ softex

Yep. I live in Tucson and even with the windows closed, my dash seems to collect inordinate amounts of dust. Price of living in the desert, I suppose. Wouldn't have it any other way! Nothing a damp cloth can't fix.

    Tire choices

Have a new set of wheels on order, and will put BFG KO/2s on them next week. Ran the KOs on my Jeep GC for 4 years and loved them. A bit loud on the pavement, but great off-road performance. Looking forward to the new tires, and will post thoughts once I'm running. Planning a 1500 to 2000 mile...

5th Gen Wheel & Tire Thread

I just bought a set of Konig Countersteer Type X from FN wheels. As so many have said, Dustin was great to work with. Wheels should arrive tomorrow or Monday. BFG KO2s waiting at Discount Tire to be installed as soon as wheels arrive. Went with 265/70s, though still thinking about bumping up to...

    2017 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium (my 5th 4Runner 83-2017)

And I couldn't figure out what that plastic thing was, either. Good to know. Glad Arizona doesn't make us use a front plate.

    2017 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium (my 5th 4Runner 83-2017)

Just bought my first 4R, a 2017 Off-road Premium, too. I replaced a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that caused me nothing but trouble. So far I really like the ride of the Toyota. I'm waiting for some Konig Countersteer Type X wheels and BFG KO2s to arrive next week, then I'm off to have a James...
