So a friend of mine just picked up a V6 2WD 4th Gen. He was driving it home, about 80 down the highway, and it quit, motor just basically locked up and quit. I’m wondering if there’s any 4th gen isms that would cause this. Had a 3rd gen for a long time. Any help would be appreciated.

How much for both?

Do you happen to still have the steering wheel? The trim on the column behind it?

Actually I didn’t end up changing it at all. I did some more digging, and after talking to a Toyota race team that my old man had contact with in Vegas. I decided not to mess with it. Rekkr owns that 4Runner now, he may or may not change it. I do not know.

It worked just fine with the regular 3rd gen shocks. Bolted up, little stuff, but I haven’t wheeled it in that setup. You should ask Rekkr, he’ll be taking it out this weekend I believe.

So I have sold this rig, however I will tell you this. Alex (can’t think of his username right now) had the 4th gens, in order to mount them, you have to move the mounting point for the top of the shock. I intended to do that, but all the fabrication, etc was not able to be resourced. So I...

So today was the day. I watched the 4Runner drive off. It went to a good home, a forum member who will give it the adventures it deserves. I am looking for another Toyota to fit my needs a little better. I’ll be around, thanks to everyone for the help.
