    New oil leak...

I sold the 4Runner a year ago. One thing I learned from the whole oil leak experience was that you have to use a gasket for the lower oil pan not gasket sealant. Good Luck!

    Steering Knuckle Replacement..

Yea, it wasnt a bad job. I cant remember what the new knuckle cost but it was a striaghtforward job.

    New oil leak...

Those two bolts are above the "upper oil pan." According to my mechanic at the time you have to drop the lower and upper oil pan to get to the leak. Which also involves dropping the front differential. No sure exactly what they did while they had it apart but it did stop leaking from that...

    Jump start with bad alternator

Or you can try swapping it out yourself. It's a pretty simple job with minimal tools. Odd thing, my alternator went out shortly after changing to a new battery also. Not sure what would cause that..

What to think - oil pan stripped

If you wind up replacing the pan it's not a very big job. The lower oil pan is actually pretty small and easy to get to. Just make sure you replace the oil pan gasket. Mine started to leak and the mechanic I took it to used some kind of sealant instead of a gasket, it leaked of coarse. Did...

    No More Caliper Freeze.....I hope!

The way I understand it is they are all OE calipers, there just rebuilt. I've replaced a NAPA caliper. Not sure how long brake calipers have been around but you would think Toyota would have them figured out by now! I purchased my last two calipers from Amazon.com of all places. Best price...

trouble getting front tires off - pic included

I tried AutoZone the first time I changed a caliper. When I would order a drivers side caliper I would get a passenger side. They ordered it three times and it was wrong each time. I finally went to a local Napa and got the right one. Im pretty sure the AutoZone was also the wrong casting...

    Rear Caliper Question...

I went ahead and replaced the pads. I was happy to be able to compress the pistons for a change. The pads tested my patience going back in but now all is well. Happy not to be buying rear calipers just yet.

    Rear Caliper Question...

While replace another ripped CV boot I decided to rotate my tires. While I had the rear tires off I decided to check the rear brake pads. I noticed the outer pads are very worn while the inners were in decent shape. I just replace them less then 2 years ago. I was wondering if this was a...

trouble getting front tires off - pic included

Between torn/leaking CV boots and seized brake calipers, my wheels don't stand a chance of getting froze on. I bet I have the wheels off at least once every 3 months for something. Just noticed your picture. If I didn't know better I would say the top pic looks like the classic frozen...

    CV Boots Leaking...

Im going through this for the second time, the inner boots don't seem to last long. I got a new boot from here - Beck Arnley 103-2957 Constant Velocity Joint Boot Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive. Then used this write up -...
