    Airbag recall question

Just an update to my earlier posts - I dropped off the 2011 this morning for the airbag recall and state inspection/oil change/45k service. All service work was completed by noon. I asked the service manager if they removed the dash and he indicated they didn't completely remove it but did have...

    Airbag recall question

I asked if they could schedule the work for anytime and had all parts on hand, and the advisor said it was no problem. He knew about the left A-pillar trim replacement. Then I asked if the console and dash really had to come out and he said "yes". I mentioned my concerns about my custom sound...

    Airbag recall question

I've reviewed the procedure in the service manual and in the NHTSA procedure sheet - that's why I'm asking. Some forum members are reporting removal of the dashboard, console, trim pieces, etc., while others report that it's much simpler and less involved. I'm trying to figure out why there's...

    Airbag recall question

After reading the entire thread (and other airbag recall threads), there still seems to be some question regarding how much of the dash (if any) needs to be removed to replace the passenger airbag. Like others, I'm concerned about everything going back correctly after looking at the procedure...

    Aftermarket Stereo

Roadstar01- The manual programming was fairly easy. There are two documents available, one for the original ASWC and one for the ASWC-1. The manual programming instructions are the same, but the ASWC instructions are laid out in a much easier to follow way. Not sure if forum rules allow links so...

    Aftermarket Stereo

If I try to include the telephone controls in the automatic programming sequence, they appear to do nothing at all; if skipped as part of automatic programming, they're mapped as voice command = attenuation/mute, and on/off hook = folder prev/next. I'm sure that's just where they happen to land...

    Aftermarket Stereo

I've still not been able to get the phone controls to work; the buttons themselves work for any other function I care to program, but I'm starting to suspect that the Pioneer (AVH-X3600BHS) does not support those commands via the 3.5 mm input. I've sent a note to Pioneer support but have yet to...

    Aftermarket Stereo

Update: I've installed the Pioneer head unit and can report that the Metra 70-8114 harness does in fact match the 20 pin 4Runner plug and is the correct pinout for steering wheel controls and the factory 3.5 mm AUX input. On my system, the aux input exhibited a ~ 20 Hz noise that was present...

    Aftermarket Stereo

I liked the fact that the Kenwood had an actual volume knob, but it was limited in how it handled music files on a USB hard drive. The Pioneer handled more files/folders, which was a deciding factor for me.

    Aftermarket Stereo

I'm hoping someone can help with questions regarding a new head unit install in a non-navigation, non JBL 2011 SR5. First, is it safe to assume that the electrical diagrams available for the 2010 would match the 2011? I'd like to install one of the new Pioneer units (probably the AVH-3600BHS)...

    2011 SR5 Invoice Breakdown

I just bought a 4WD 3rd row seat SR5; the standard option configuration was DJ, EC, FE, PE, SR, TH, 3T, 5A (power seats, sport fabric, stereo/Bluetooth w/USB, backup camera, moonroof and the port options exhaust tip, mudguards, cargo crossbars, cargo cover, and wheel locks). The MSRP was...

    Remote start auto-off on entry

Was it necessary to perform the immobilizer/remote ECU handshake procedure with a Toyota Techstream notebook or did you just make the necessary harness connections and use the ignition key on/off sequence?
