Is the 4Runner becoming the new fan boy vehicle?

I mean... Have you seen this Walmart commercial  I couldn't find the clip with just the 4runner, but I see it on TV. I've also seen 5th gens in multiple other commercials for other websites/companies.

    SPOTTED Thread

Sounds good :D There is also a facebook group, 4Runners of Washington. I have seen 2 or 3 people from that group around. They also have stickers.

    SPOTTED Thread

Do you have t4r.org stickers? I have them on mine and have never seen anyone else with them. I live in Marysville (grew up in lynnwood/bothell) but am on i5 and 405 frequently, usually every place I go is south of my house.

    This a good deal? 2005 4x4 v8 99k miles for $7780

No. That's pretty much bare bones base model plus a sunroof, not 4WD, not a sport, probably a really high chance it needs timing belt/water pump done, etc.

Too much rust???? Looking at a used 4runner

I don't know what other things it went to Toyota for but if those are the only ones and it was only in the last 2-3 years I wouldn't say it was someone who "took care of their car". I would say pass on this, there are much better ones out there, you just have to be patient. This one seems to...

    My 2004 v6 vs 2004 v8

2004 v8 doesn't have the VVTI "Early in 2003 the V6(1GR-FE) go launched. It was the first all aluminum engine in a Toyota truck. It featured VVTi ( Variable Valve timing) and a very respectable 245HP from the 4.0liter engine, and 282 lb/ft. The 4.7 liter V8(2UZ-FE ) was the same as the one in...

    Registration Fees

In Washington it now goes by where you live or something (not sure, just moved back from FL) but when I surrendered my FL plate and got all new WA plates, etc. it only cost me $155 for everything for my 4runner where I live. My dad lives about 15-20 minutes away and this year his cost to renew...

Buying a 4th Gen Tips? Suggestions on current

Open the sunroof and check for rust; another issue some people have is their sunroof rattles. The rubber on the rear hatch handle can melt and get really sticky on these, make sure it's still there (mine was missing when I bought it). The orange light on the screen under the radio that has...

Your opinions on this undercarriage rust please

I was looking for the same things, took me 6 months to find my first one, which got totaled 3 months later, and then 7 months to find the one I have now. Both were shipped from out of state (I was in Florida at the time) and now live in Washington state. I saw a lot of nice ones in VA for some...

Buying a 4th Gen Tips? Suggestions on current

V8 has timing belt/water pump- recommended to be changed every 90k/9 years, they can have the rear driveshaft clunk, make sure it goes into 4lo- expensive fix- also check center diff. That pre-purchase thread someone else posted should have almost all your answers in it.

    4Runner Stolen - CO 491-WKD - Salsa Red

They tried to do that to me when my 06 got totaled. I had just bought it 4 months before (had all the dealership pictures, etc.) and they were using V6 2WD SR5 as their comp vehicles and mine was V8 4WD Limited with almost all the available options. Their argument was "but it's the same car" and...

    Toyota - Smart Chip Update?

It doesn't really "drive for you" I think it just cuts the engine off if both pedals are pressed and I believe it is only when going highway speeds.

    Toyota - Smart Chip Update?

They did that to mine when I took it in for something else and never said a word to me, only noticed it when I looked at the paperwork when I got home. They also cut the accelerator pedal.
