For Maximum Off-Road Traction; Wide or Skinny tires?

I'm glad no offense was taken. And I agree that the difference between stock to 285 or 255 is not that big a difference, if at all, performance wise. To answer the question posted in the poll: Which has more traction, one would have to determine which has more friction/or larger contact...

For Maximum Off-Road Traction; Wide or Skinny tires?

Easy tiger! Well then, lemme explain the benefit of longer vs wider. A longer tread provides a more tank like tread grip. It's that simple. Would you prefer a contact patch that is square or a contact patch that is more rectangular with the width running front to rear? On to your next...

For Maximum Off-Road Traction; Wide or Skinny tires?

I run 255/85 16 in the KM2 flavor and love the performance of the skinny tire. Lighter weight and better clearance and breaking. As far as airing down.... I do not air down to widen the contact patch, I air down to LENGTHEN the contact patch. Overall it is a personal preference and my vote...

LONE STAR TOYOTA JAMBOREE - JAN. 15th

I can't say for sure. Cuz I'm not sure who runs this site and if they do any promoting of the forum like some of the other guys, i.e. TTORA. There will be alot of TX TTORA guys out there. They are the ones who pretty much put this thing on, I think. This will be my 2nd time to go. Check out...

LONE STAR TOYOTA JAMBOREE - JAN. 15th

Didn't see a thread anywhere in this forum about one of the best Toyota events ever! Lone Star Toyota Jamboree | January 15th - 17th 2010, Gilmer, Texas | Check it out! I went last year and it was an absolute blast. It's a 7.5 hour drive for me from NW Arkansas but I wouldn't miss it. I...

    lift kit purchase complete-LC coils

...Subscribed... I have been looking for examples of a OME front and landcruiser coils in the rear! This will be my next set up so I am interested in your write up. The previous comment is correct. You will put the coils from the front of a landcruiser on your rear axle and the OME 882 go up...

Cleaned her up, took some pics.

Truck looks great, super clean! Side note...how you like the coopers? I am looking to buy that same tire in that same size. Since you have the limited wheels did you have to do anything special to make them fit? i.e cutting, pounding, spacers?

    Pictures of Wheel Spacers

If you are looking to spend $200 dollars then my suggestion would be sliders or a lift. But that is my opinion and I will always choose function over form! 4xInovations.com comes to mind, and he has sliders for your price range :-)

Need some opinions/help on this 3rd Gen 4R....

I agree. I would not offer more than $11k for this. It does have 4 wheel drive, in addition to that it appears to have a rear diff locker. That little black button to the left of the steering column. This is a very nice feature if you are ever to take it off road. From what I can tell it...
