Thanks, what was the solution in opening the door? I've removed the cover, but don't see any obvious latches or switches which would release the lock.

2 problems. Need to drop my spare tire. But, my rear door seems to be frozen locked Any one have any ideas on if there is a way to drop the spare tire without opening the rear door? Mine is frozen shut. May be a bad actuator or failed locking mechanism.
