Have the same issue w/ 2008 V8 SE, dealer won't do anything to rectify the situation. But then they can't even change the oil correctly so not a big concern. Like Audi before this, Toyota has lost a customer for life. As w/ so much of corporate society they are penny wise and pound foolish.

I use my '08 V8 Sport to tow my race car, 2900# car +1000# Trailex + 5-600#s of driver and gear. The big hills around WGI and along I-88 can be a challenge even for the V8 the downhills more so than the ups, you just drive sanely. But you can also cruise at 80 on the flats, I avg 16.3mpg...

I use my cordless mostly for tire changes at the track, but it's also been useful for trailer flats and is so convenient that it's used in the shop too.

I'm sure it depends on the year but for MY2008 V8 tow package was standard & 7000# for AWD 7300# for RWD, V6 was optional & 5000#(weight carrying not distributing hitch receiver) Tow package was a separate oil cooler for the transmission & weight distributing hitch reciever and wiring harness...

No problems towing my 4k#(all up loaded wt) race car w/ my late V8, had no issues except mountain passes towing a 5k# keel boat w/ my older V6 and the keel boat presented a huge target to cross winds, it wasn't as stable as the even older G20 lwb van that I used before that but no issues either.

It just takes a few seconds to hook up an e-controller, the chassis pigtail is near the parking brake actuator, buy a something like a Tekonsha Prodigy which can be had w/ a dedicated plug in harness from the controller to the chassis pigtail

yes, I hadn't considered that. p/s fluid does have the consistancy and color of the puddled fluid. I just inspected the lines and connections, nothing is obvious as far as a track.
