I have a 2005 that I recently purchased as a second vehicle I cannot put more than 18 gallons of gas and it says it's close to being empty any advice?

I just bought a 2005 Limited V8 four-wheel drive as a second vehicle and I have yet to put much over 18 gallons on a 23 gallon tank. 18.1 or .2 is all that it will take with the empty light coming on and the mile tracker to empty close to 5 miles being left. Any ideas on what could be causing...

I just bought a 2005 as a second vehicle and I'm having this exact same issues you're having any resolution on your end? I realize you posted this years ago.
