Yep.......bought an ebay aftermarket cover years ago. It's a mess to replace. Naphtha/lighter fluid is your friend.....along with some q-tips. Go slowly and carefully.......you'll get there. Hope this helps. Kevin

Ya sure the factory fluid fan clutch is up-to-snuff?? Gotta get enough air across the condenser. In the past......on other vehicles......I've had my share of bad ones. Hope this helps. Kevin

Years ago I had a slow leak.......and added 1/2 can of oil recharge. It ended up letting the leaking o-rings seal. That was 8 years ago........still good. For speed related warming.......I'd check the engine fan clutch for proper function. Hope this helps. Kevin

Suspect bad/locked-up alternator. Check serpentine belt. Put VOM across the battery....while engine running. If less than 14.0 volts.......probably bad alternator. Hope this helps. Kevin

My 2008 4runner is on it's third blower motor...... They wear out.....by developing a dead spot on the rotor. Therefore.....sometimes work, sometimes not. I'm in far North Central Texas. Hope this helps. Kevin

My 2008 V8 4Runner.......... IIRC......the 2008 4Runner V8 is completely manufactured in Japan, along with the rest of the vehicle. What's unique about this......is that the 4.7 V8's built in Japan have a forged rotating assembly. V8's built elsewhere are cast. Hope this helps. Kevin

Guess I should have listed the thrown codes. P043E P043F P2402 P2419 P2401 BTW.........it was NOT the gas cap. My main point is that the REAL problem boils down to the small dc leak detection pump......5-10 dollar motor.......and not the entire $800 evap canister assembly. Hope this helps...

Well..........finally got around to replacing the leak detection pump on the evap canister assembly. Next.....is to clear the codes......and wait......to see if they reappear. I'll be taking the pump apart, to see if I can identify the small vacuum pump dc motor. Still.........it's hard to...
