7 years later, do we have any solutions for this? My 2007 has been having these issues for a while now and cleaning the belt helped but didn't solve the problem. I talked to the dealer and they wanted to sell me the part but wouldn't do the install themselves.

Quick update, I had a mechanic install a new starter and the problem hasn't come back. Downside, he installed a refurb Ultima starter and it just doesn't sound as good. Higher pitched electrical sound. Oh well.

Does anyone have instructions for how to take apart the passenger side dash so I can investigate this further? Would be nice to not just start removing bolts.
