It took me reading about 20 pages of comments to find this, but man oh man, as someone who just bought an 03 V8, this is the best news I've heard this week.

I don't know... I bought a 2003 for $5,000 that was in much better shape, and I've already put $2,500 back into her. I'm still pleased with it, but you just tallied up $2,500+ of stuff you *know* you're going to repair. The minute something else major surprises you, it's no longer worth it.

Thanks again, Wes. That's what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure as I'm so new to this. I am definitely more concerned with the car's wiring than I am with the Garmin... It's a lot easier to buy a new Garmin if something goes wrong.

Wes, thanks for the input! Regarding the fuses, the 12V outlet I bought is only rated to 7A. Does this mean I should use a smaller fuse than the 10A? I searched in 3 stores, but couldn't find one rated to 10A. All that will ever be attached to it is a Garmin... You think that's a problem...
