    5th gear rattling.

Could be the bushings, im not to great with transmissions. My first thing would be to check for any loose bolts or things along those lines, the lower RPM's and higher load on the engine could be vibrating just right to make something rattle. Might even be an exausht shield over the cat to...

    Bad News for my 4Runner!

radiator My truck did that for a while, i tried just a radiator cap and it helped a little, but 2 weeks later the radiator itself was leaking like a freakin sive. I'd check and replace that along with all hoses before i went dicking around with head gaskets or looking for cracks in the block...

    Carburetors

The carburetor on my 1984 4Runner is in dire need of replacement or rebuild. I've heard from more than one person that the stock carburetor will out perform any aftermarket carburetor money can buy. Anybody agree with this? And if that should be the case, what would be a good substitute? I...

    Running Boards or not?

Hey man its your rig, if you want em on there go for it. I'm not trying to be one of those people telling you want to do/not to do, thats just my opinion. In the right applications, i.e. NOT a Jeep Liberty, they look good. (Not to rag on Jeeps.)

    Running Boards or not?

I've never been a fan of running boards for an off-roading rig. Personally, if you cant get in your truck dont drive it.

new 4runner owner and i have a couple of questions

Generally, the more power you add to your vehicle the less gas mileage you'll get out of it. I'm not familiar at all with Toyotas 3.0 engine, but i know from my expericence with Fords Powerstroke through the computer chip you can turn off all the emissions crap which improves fuel economy...

    1st Gen T4R Picture Gallery

My old man bought her in '84 brand new, and 2 years ago gave it to me to restore it back to its glory days. 199K miles later, shes a little underpowered (probably worn piston rings) but still runs beautiful. It's outlived 4 cars in my driveway, a GMC pick-up bought brand new, Ford F250 bought...
