My understanding is when you put your vehicle in park and apply the parking brake, it only locks the rear wheels. So if you are on a wet slimy boat ramp, it is possible the rear tires could slip and your rig could go in the water. That is why they say to put it in 4wd so it links both axles...

I was having the shop vac noise at a cold start. I ordered the kit from slyfox75 and it arrived fast with great instructions. I confirmed the installation was successful with a voltmeter and the noise is gone. Very happy I did this and thanks to Jeff for the kit to prevent an expensive repair...

That seems like a fair price assuming it is clean in person. The cracked dash issue was resolved in 2006. The V8 is awesome. Good luck!

I would recommend the Michelin Defender. I have had all versions of the LTX series and they are great for what you describe.
