Do either of you have LED bulbs? Certain cheap LEDs without proper shielding can cause all sorts of backfeed into the electrical system, causing weird issues like this.

Also had this issue on my 4Runner relatively recently, despite lifting and adding 33s about 2 years ago. Plugged in techstream and just wiped out the ZPC which disables traction control as soon as you move, but leaves ABS active. Leaves some lights on the dash but no more pesky braking out of...

I know you said no phone ones, but check out BlueDriver if you get a chance. We have a snap-on at work they’ll use, but we’ve got a couple of these as backups. They work great and offer Mode 6 support as well as scanning specific modules.

Funny, my wife drives a 19 NX, and I’ve got the 4runner and a Lexus CT as a daily. IMO, Keep the runner and buy yourself a daily that gets decent mileage and has the features you want. For me, I like having a 3rd “just in case” vehicle around and depending on what you do with your 4runner...
