    Pics of 2xx/75/17

If you look at what the different numbers mean it makes more sense. 265/65/17 Means the tire is 265mm wide, the rims are 17" in diameter, and the tire from the rim to the tread is 65% of 255mm (6.8"). So the total tire height is: 6.8" bottom tread to rim + 17" rim + 6.8" rim to top tread, or...

    Pics of 2xx/75/17

If you're concerned about the added height, also look for pics of a 265/70/17. That is about the same height as the 255/75/17: Tire Dimensions Made Simple - Discount Tire I'm planning on putting them on my ride and think they'll look great. Plan on doing it early next week so I'll take pics...

    Snow tires or A/Ts?

Well, in case I didn't make it clear in my first post, I did the Revos a few years ago and they were great! After 40k miles though, they just don't quite have the snow grip that I'm accustomed to. So I'm in the market....

    Snow tires or A/Ts?

Ha. No, I've got the stock 17" for now. Thanks for the input everyone. I'll stay away from snow tires. I continued reading reviews for a couple hours and came to the conclusion that there is no "best" A/T tire. Just when I think I find one that everyone likes, I find threads where people hated...

    Snow tires or A/Ts?

I've been reading tire reviews all over this forum for a while now, and of course there are many opinions. My basic question is this: I'm looking for new tires for my 04 4Runner Sport 2.5"/1.5" Daystar and am wondering if I should go with a snow tire (looking at Blizzak) or an A/T (Dueler Revo...

    Valentine 1 Install w/remote display

Figured I'd just tag along in this thread to show my wiring. Same basic idea... tap into power from the lights, run a remote display wire down the drivers side post. Only difference is where I've got my V1 stuck, and where the remote display is. I think I like where mine is mounted better than...

    Dual batteries

I just installed my 2nd battery last week. I bought an Optima yellow top and an isolator from Painless Products. I got some good help and ideas from Lance ("Good Times" on this board) and his website: http://www.chaosedition.com/modifications/electrical.asp The link on his site pointed me to...

    Front liscense plate bracket

i'm in CA, and its the law to have a front license plate. i dont. i've been pulled over 3 times (2 times for speeding), and have had a couple of conversations with cops who have been looking at my car. nobody has ever noticed, or at least mentioned, my missing front plate. also, since the front...

    Belt noise?

i just had a similar noise on my 04 4runner. i noticed it after i went off-roading up near mammoth (looking for hidden hot springs). anyways, it was a squealing or grinding type noise and you could tell it was something attached to the belt. took it to the dealer and they determined it was the...
