Well the rattling sound and vibration past 50+ sounds like it might be your u-joints. I actually just replaced mine today. Parts itself isn't badly priced.. I bought my u-joints for $20 each at AutoZone. Somebody might chime in and recommend a certain brand. I just bought the ones in my budget...

Hey guys! Just an update.. finally replaced my u-joints and now my car runs so smooth that it's kinda weird. I got used to the crazy vibrations. Lol.

Alright, what am I doing wrong? I can't get the nuts off to get the driveshaft off to save my life. I'm starting to just strip the nut itself. Already soaked it in PB.. should I just let it sit for even longer before starting back up? I'm also trying this without lifting the car.. would that be...

Upon further inspection, I noticed this from the other side of the pic from yesterday. Would I be okay in just replacing the u joint?

Another San Antonian here. I won't be hitting any trails though as my 4Runner is in need of a fixing.. plus its a 2wd. Currently unemployed, in search of a job. Wondering if anyone would be able to help me with my U joints? Of course i'll be buying the parts, but if you got any specialized tools...
