112K miles on my 2004 and still runs and looks like new. Just make sure and check to see if the timing belt has been changed out. That should have been done around the 90K-100K mark.

As they rarely go bad, I would look for a good one at a junk yard and install it yourself or have an independent garage install it. Save your $$$!

Last month I bought a 2004 4Runner Limited with 99,000 miles on it with all service records and timing belt just replaced. Dealer offered an extended warranty and I turned it down. One reason I went with the 4Runner is its reliability. Save the money for something else.

I just did all three this weekend. And like Doozi says, pretty easy to spot when you have the skid plate off. There are only 4 bolts that hold the plate on. Don't forget to grease the front and rear drive shafts!

This is one reason I got my 4R, the lack of real problems of any kind!
