Yeah I would just run whatever you have until you can buy in cash. I feel like cars are only gonna continue to remain expensive new and used. No need to waste money. I don’t think the government will be bailing people out any longer

Buy whatever you can afford in the best condition. These are all 26+ years old and most have been passed around a bunch. I have a 1990 and it’s a great vehicle, but always something or other needing to be fixed

lifetime meaning like 10-15 years or so. I think spending $20-$40 and replacing it is a good call on a rig like mine with 215k miles... even if the only real benefit is the satisfaction of wrenching and having my engine bay have one less rusty old part in it

There is only 1 Feature I need Besides 4WD of course. Bring back the manual! It makes no sense that the Tacoma offers it and the 4Runner doesn't.

Seems to still be an issue with these trucks I just bought a 2nd Gen and having the same issue. Hard to find any in good condition but i may just end up removing them

Over the weekend I pulled the trigger on a 1990 V6 5 Speed 4WD SR5! Very excited to start working on her but i don't have plates yet. So that is first up. Next i will start replacing some of the worn out parts and do a general tune-up.

Im happy that i have 1990 since it uses sealed beam. It does look like the previous owner put in new headlights but im hoping i can upgrade to LED once i take care of some other issues
