Just a socket wrench and a few sockets. Cant remember the sizes exactly, it was so long ago. I know for sure a 13mm was needed.

I put the running boards from dyer toyota on last night and there was no gap. Really nice looking board and very easy to put on. Changes the look of the 4runner alot and seems to fill it out.
