Traction control and comp aided stab lights

I know about the button on the dash, but how do you get them to go out when they stay on after starting?

Porsche ups ante w/ Cayenne Turbo S

Has anyone seen one of these Cayenne's on a dirt road? Any model, even the cheap ones? I hear they were developed along with the VW Touareg. The Touareg has tanked everyone's reliability ratings. I wonder it the Cayenne has kept pace, and tanked it, too? I just can't imagine driving one of...

How Important is the Cabin Air-filter?

The reason it's so expensive to change is because it takes two minutes and a phillips screw drive to remove and replace one screw. There is a catch, though. You have to open the glove box..... As others have done, you can make one, buy the element material from Home Depot. Take the existing one...

    Change out power steering fluid

Luxo cars always require little extras because the owners will pay for them. The same Toyota with a Lexus badge mifht require lots of little extras. The Toyota version might just need to be washed.

    New RAV4 vs original 4Runner

Now that the new 4Runner has stepped up in size, the RAV4 has stepped up, too. Could it be that the new RAV4 is about the same size as the original 4Runner?

Better Gas Mileage w/ lower temps

I think that hot water circulates through the heater system all the time. The air is mixed as needed, but the heated water is always flowing. As far as MTBE's, those tree huggers screw us every time. Notice that they don't outlaw petroleum jelly. The keep things they use all the time.

    Synthetic Oil

You can reduce the cost of synthetic by buying in bulk and changing oil yourself. The person that does that and drives 'em 'till they drop is probably not going to do it any other way. Those that treat their vehicles as a short term purchase should not bother. That's what quick lube places and...

    15,000 mile service question

On the rear diff, if you jack up the back of your 4Runner, don't put the drain plug back in until you let it off the jack, and be prepared for more oil to come out while lowering your vehicle.

    Atf Dexron Ii Or Iii?

Transmissions are expensive, I use Red LIne D4.

    Change out power steering fluid

Just get something to suck out the fluid out and fill it back up with new fluid. You can do this every 30k miles or so, if you're keeping your 4Runner. I do it to my cars and use Red Line D4 for the 4Runner and Volvo.

$149 for 8 years of oil change

That's less than five bucks an oil change. The pressure is going to be on, for them to make their money back.

Hitch standard only on the Limited? My SR5, which is the lowest in the model like came with a hitch and receiver, just no ball.

    2006 4R's Oil change directions ?

I wanted to know when the rings had completely seated in my new V8 4Runner. So, at just under 200 miles (that's right, two hundred miles) I did a leak down test and it passed. The engine was broken in. I changed the oil to synthetic, but I drove my break in schedule until two thousand miles...

$149 for 8 years of oil change

Bluto has the right idea. It's just sales. What oil and filter do they use and what is the oci. I assume it's API cert oil, but what about the filter. If it's a white box, no name filter, be careful. Besides the lotboy needs some experience, because he might want to become a mechanic someday. It...

    Have both now

So, they have the same running gear, V8 4x4, that is? If you buy the Lexus version then you're after a little more luxury than the Limited offers and are willing to pay the difference. But the SR5 should last as long and run as well...?
