I'm in Huntsville as well. I ended up doing the work myself on my 2010 trail with KDSS using 5100s. If you have someone helping it's not a big deal using the forum. Search how to lift kdss. As for shops, the only local lift shop I know of is Rocket City Off-road. I've never used them though...
I was having the same issues. Last week I had the dealer do a full power steering service and it's completely gone. I think it was about $150 but the steering feels incredible. I'm generally not a believer in flush services, but this one was worth it.
