I haven't used stop leak, but a few ounces DOT 3 brake fluid has sealed up my 3.0 V6. I am running 0-40 Mobil 1, which finds it's way out of unsealed motors. My leak was on the drivers side, but a lot of oil ended up on the bellhousing. I added about 3 ounces to my engine oil. Ran with that...
