Mine has the same noise, started around 55K and I am currently at 125K. It does not seem to change as the miles keep going on. I tried to chase it down for a year or so and then gave up. Wish I knew for sure what it was!

I use a 8' long rack for my surf ski. Works great. I have to take the arms off the rack to get into my garage, so far I have only forgotten once.

I have done a little more research into this problem. I am still having the issue where my camera either: 1. works fine 2. gray screen 3. colors washed out and wrong 4. shaking image 5. does not work at all When the camera does not work at all, I go into the service mode and it is not listed...

bumping this up to see if anyone has found a solution for the intermittent backup camera. I am going to start the mod for a switch next month when I have some time...but until then.

I am having the same issue with my 2010 limited. The last few weeks the backup camera has not been working every time. Hopefully someone has a solution.

On vacation this weekend I went to get some stuff out of the back of the 4Runner. Thought I must have water skied too much! I could not lift the hatch. Looks like my struts went out too. 48000 mi. Thanks SocalTrail for the mod...new ones are on order. Glad I don't have to pay the toyota...

You might want to bring a trailer wiring adapter or extension. The plug is located way off to the left. Many of the trailers I have towed are too short to reach over there, so I keep an extension in the back.

We tow our boat around all summer with no problems. The 4runner tows much better than the Trailblazer it replaces. More HP/TQ would not hurt when towing, but I prefer the fuel economy savings.

I tried this today. Worked perfectly!! I now have to look into how to get my wife's camry to do the same thing. She has the standard key fob. I have always been annoyed by having to push the button twice to unlock all of the doors...NO LONGER!

No question. Limited. I took a look at both of them and like the design/interior on the limited much more. The best feature is the slide out cargo tray. I haul lots of equipment all the time for work and loading the 4runner is so easy!

I will also be looking into removing this divider. I often haul items that need to be somewhat flat in the back of the vehicle. I moved a bureau the other day and it was a pain having it balance on the divider. Hopefully it is not too hard to remove as like it for everyday use.
